TLDR: Join us at CMF, the “Goodwood of the South,” to celebrate Porsche culture with scenic drives, concours d’elegance, and a special event connected to Luft. It’s a banner year for Porsche enthusiasts—don’t miss out!

Although the 997 was the first 911 to wear the GTS badge, I’ve made the case for the air-cooled GTS; analysis that led me on a 4 year hunt for an M491. We finally found the right car a few months ago and are excited to share it with other enthusiasts.

Already one of my favorite events in the Southeast, the Chattanooga Motorcar Festival (CMF) holds a special attraction for Porschephiles this year. The CMF is a full spectrum automotive event featuring concours, car clubs, historic racing, auctions, and more. I call it the ‘Goodwood of the South’.  While this might seem ambitious, we are only in our 5th year; imagine where we’ll be in another 15!

Each year of the CMF surpasses the last, and this year promises to be exceptional with a dedicated Porsche class in the Sunday Concours d’Elegance, PCA activities, and participation from Broad Arrow among other highlights. For any Porsche enthusiast in the Southeast, this year is particularly promising.

Having attended four of the past five festivals, we’ve always sought new ways to immerse ourselves in the action. This year, we’re thrilled to to have our newly acquired M491 accepted as an entrant in the featured 911 class at the Sunday concours. After years as spectators at CMF and other automotive events including Pebble Beach and Amelia, stepping into the participant’s role is quite exciting!

Beyond the concours, where Porsches will shine in their glory, I believe these cars are meant to be driven. That sparked the idea to organize a meetup for air-cooled Porsche enthusiasts to explore the mountain roads around Chattanooga. What better way to showcase these machines than driving them?

As the plan unfolded, we were delighted to learn that Luft would be making its return this year, emphasizing the strong Porsche presence already expected. With some help from mutual connections, I reached out to Patrick Long, securing a dedicated lot at the event to display our air-cooled Porsches.

Luft at CMF

Here’s the plan: Meet up Friday night, drive through the mountains on Saturday, display our air-cooled Porsches at the event, and on Sunday morning, gather to admire and cheer for our favorites at the concours.

Join the drive: If you’re interested in joining us, please fill out the form below to secure your spot. Space in the Luft lot is limited, so don’t hesitate!  Please note, while there is no cost to participate in the drive, you will need a ticket to the Chattanooga Motorcar Festival to park in the Luft lot and enjoy the event.
